Markdown inbox

Stop losing agent work in terminal scrollback

Agent Inbox gives every agent run a durable Markdown report with project, stream, status, priority, and decision metadata. Humans review the report; agents keep the source of truth in files.

Why it works

Built for agent-to-human handoff

Agent Inbox is not a task scheduler or another chat surface. It is a review desk for the reports your agents already produce.

Use iCloud Drive, a local workspace, or a connected project folder. Agent Inbox indexes Markdown instead of locking it into a database.

How the report inbox works

Keep the workflow simple enough for every local or remote agent to follow:

1
1

Connect a project folder

Create or sync a Project in Agent Inbox, then bind a folder that contains your Markdown reports.

2
2

Let agents write reports

Codex, OpenClaw, scripts, or webhook ingress write Markdown with report frontmatter into the folder.

3
3

Review the inbox

Use the Mac sidebar or mobile Projects tab to inspect unread, needs-review, failed, stream, and decision views.

4
4

Write decisions back

Approve, reject, or mark reviewed. Decision Markdown is saved beside the project for agents to consume later.

Report protocol

YAML frontmatter captures project, stream, source, agent, status, priority, created date, and related report IDs.

Review states

Needs review, failed, done, blocked, unread, and read states make agent output actionable instead of passive.

Local-first storage

Reports remain Markdown files in folders you control, with iCloud and local project folder support.

Mac desktop triage

Sidebar sections for all reports, needs review, failed, projects, streams, decisions, folders, tags, and sources.

Mobile review

Carry the same project dashboards and report review flow on iPhone when you are away from the desk.

Agent handoff templates

Use repeatable report formats for bug fixes, PR reviews, SEO experiments, growth updates, and release notes.

A quieter operating layer for agent work

Designed around fewer lost reports, faster reviews, and durable decisions.

My agents now leave Markdown reports in one project folder. I can approve the useful work and still inspect the raw file later.

The needs-review and failed views made my nightly automation useful. I no longer dig through chat history to find what changed.

Rachel Kim

Product operator

Decisions are written back to Markdown, so my next Codex session can see what I approved without asking me again.

Marcus Thompson

Indie developer

Streams let me separate SEO, product, support, and release work while keeping one inbox for review.
